Childish Gambino

Donald McKinley Glover (born September 25, 1983 in Edwards, California) is an American actor, writer, comedian and musician. He raps under the name Childish Gambino, and DJs and produces under the moniker mc DJ. Glover is best known for his work on television shows including 30 Rock and Community. In 2008 he released the album Sick Boi, and since then he has released multiple projects including the mixtape Poindexter in 2009, I Am Just a Rapper, I Am Just a Rapper 2 and CULDESAC in 2010, and 2011's EP. Glover has stated in interviews that on Sick Boi and Poindexter he felt he had to hide behind gimmicks, but with his subsequent projects, he has touched on more personal subject matter, including family, schoolyard bullying, troubled romantic relationships, suicidal thoughts and alcoholism. Donald Glover is best known for his work on the NBC show Community alongside Joel McHale and Chevy Chase. Glover has also been a writer for the NBC series 30 Rock and is part of the comedy sketch group Derrick Comedy. He graduated from New York University with a degree in Dramatic Writing in 2006. He was nominated for the Writers Guild of America Award award for Best Comedy Series at the February 2009 ceremony for his work on the third season of 30 Rock. Donald also makes music under the moniker 'mcDJ.' His music is of the electronic/remix variety and is often made available for free download via his official site. His current album releases include Love Letter From An Unbreakable Bottle, Utterances of the Heart. Glover also goes by many other aliases such as Childish Gambino, Bambino X, Sir Durton Cloud 9, and Ms. Long-Lady Stanhope. He released the album entitled "Sick Boi" on June 5, 2008 under the name 'Childish Gambino', in which he thanks himself. On September 17, 2009, 'Childish Gambino' released the album "Poindexter". He recently released a pair of mixtapes entitled "I Am Just A Rapper," and "I Am Just A Rapper 2," and his upcoming album "The Culdesac" is slated for a release this Spring.
