Elisha Keen

Hello! My name is Elisha. I’ve been singing/playing/writing for awhile now. I’ve been teaching since February 2007, and hope to finish my B Music/BA double degree at the end of 2009. My originals are mostly folk-pop with occasional alternative influences (depending on which song you hear), and I also dabble in jazz. I’m hoping to finish my first decent recording very soon. I started off with around 5 years of classical training and then heard Sarah Vaughan sing "Lullaby of Birdland" and decided to go a little way down the jazz road. I started writing my own material at around 16 years of age. I tend to write "when I feel like it" - when I am inspired to do so, which means that for the most part I come up with nothing and then something happens in my life and suddenly I can’t stop thinking in rhymes.
