Get Stellar

Get Stellar is musician, producer and DJ Simon Johnson. Starting in Adelaide, Simon joined forces with vocalist Andrew Fleming and co-wrote "The Moment", an indie disco crowd-pleaser that was released in early 2010 with remixes from GLOVES, Def Starr and Nick Supply. The debut received play on Triple J, Nova, Rage and Video Hits, made the ARIA club chart and the Jango Top 5, and stole the attention of bloggers from London to Brazil. Shortly after, Simon moved to Canberra to infiltrate the disco scene from the nation's capital and is a new resident at the monthly disco night Heartbeat, supporting the likes of Cassian, FLight Facilities and Moonchild. Simon has been making music since before CDs. He played bass in the school jazz band with Donnie Sloan (Empire of the Sun) and produced from his home studio in between homework. Simon later went on to form a five-piece, live dance music outfit "Gathered Grooves" in 2002 and gigged around Adelaide for a couple of years - the times were good but the music not so much. Simon has recently finished remixes for Eye Industries, Kuskus and Light Speed Recordings and has more originals in the pipeline.
