Velvet Code

Velvet Code is a critically acclaimed pop artist living in London, England. Originally from a small town outside Toronto Canada, Velvet was born for the nightlife and couldn't resist a move to Toronto in his teens. Drawing inspiration from the 90s, as well as the likes of Madonna, Duran Duran and the Pet Shop Boys, Velvet's style began to shift to include elements of electro, house and techno as he entered into the underground club scene in the late 90s. Shortly after, Velvet decided to moved to New York City to launch Velvet Code. Although he performed with musicians in New York, this solo artist is currently enjoying the excitement of creating a unique sounding live atmosphere completely on his own. Considered one who lives in "Velvet Code World", he also calls out Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson, Prince and Madonna as his greatest influences. Winner of the Song of the Year in 2008 at The 8th Annual Independent Music Awards for "Say You Love Me", Velvet Code was immediately picked up as the opening act for the Mindless Self Indulgence North American tour. That same track founds its way onto MTV's "The Hills" in the premiere episode of Season 5. A remix of "Say You Love Me" was also picked up on the Season 2 premiere of Jersey Shore in August 2010. Velvet Code was also featured by Perez Hilton and ArjanWrites in 2008 and 2009 respectively. Shortly after, Velvet Code decided that it was time to take his act across the pond, to London, England, where he immediately began working with Swedish hit maker, Peter Bostrom (Eric Saade, A-teens, Alcazar) on tracks like "This Is Not Pretend", "Follow You, Follow Me" and "Please Don't Give Up". Velvet's debut single release is set for October 5th and is called "Follow You Follow Me", produced by Peter Bostrom and mastered by Geoff Pesche at AbbeyRoad (Kylie Minogue, Ellie Goulding, Pixie Lott and Coldplay).
