Griffin Anthony

Singer/Songwriter, Griffin Anthony, 26, has become one of America’s best-kept-secrets on the current music scene. From his humble beginnings as a drummer in a childhood band (“The Ripptides”), to working as a stagehand at the famous Newport Jazz Festival as a teen, his life-long love for a diverse variety of music has given insight to his own unique mixed-genre, which he refers to as “Acoustic SouP” -- an intriguing blend of Soul and Pop. Artistically textured, Griffin layers profound lyrics and blues-inspired melodies within the framework of his vocals; his cross-cultural style can simply be summed up in one word: amazing! A native of New York, Griffin’s a South Florida resident who continues to gain an ever-growing local fan base. He’s been featured several times on WILD 95.5 (Kevin/Virginia Morning Show), he was interviewed on CBS/WPEC-12, he performed at this year’s SunFest and has played countless shows at popular venues throughout the tri-county area. Griffin’s self-titled EP debuted in August ‘07 with an outpouring of praise and stellar reviews. His signature track from that release, “Sleepy Sunday,” steadily climbed the Clear Channel Charts and was most recently featured on ABC! Currently, it’s the eve of Griffin’s forthcoming full-length CD (“Crazy Ways”) -- a collection of 10 thought-provoking original tracks recorded in Miami along side Grammy-winning engineer, Charles Dye (Ricky Martin, J-Lo) -- the new album is scheduled for release January 1, 2010.
