Naked Brothers Band

"The Naked Brothers Band" is a thoroughly entertaining rock and roll musical comedy for children and adults. Part documentary, part mockumentary, and a lot of fun in between, it tracks a kids' rock band that struggles with superstardom, and features more than 18 celebrities including Julianne Moore, Tony Shalhoub, and Uma Thurman. This 'fantasy rockumentary' stars two real life brothers, Nat Wolff age 9, and Alex Wolff age 6, and the real life band they started in pre-school with archival footage of their first gig. In "The Naked Brothers Band," the camera follows Nat and Alex through their concerts, their rehearsals, and their private lives, as they deal with the growing pains related to love, friendship, and fame. The Film features original songs written and performed by Nat Wolff including, "Crazy Car," "Got No Mojo," "Hardcore Wrestlers," and "Rosalina," and a special solo performance by Alex Wolff singing his original song "That's How It Is." "The Naked Brothers Band" is written and directed by Polly Draper. Nat Wolff Nat is an accomplished singer-songwriter-keyboardist — has composed more than 150 songs since the age of five and has had a band The Silver Boulders, since pre-school. His greatest achievement so far, is writing the song, Firefighters, after 9/11, when had his parents organize a fundraiser for the local Squad 18, which lost half their company. Nat and The Silver Boulders raised $46,000 dollars for the children of the lost firefighters. He has acted in "Getting Into Heaven" at the Flea Theater (2003) and "The Heartbeat of Bagdad" (2004). His newest venture is as a stand–up comedian, recently appeared at The 2005 New York Underground Comedy Festival’s Improv 4 Series, and is a regular at The Improv Comedy Club. This past summer he wrote, directed and produced his first short film "Don’t Eat Off My Plate," starring his parents. In his spare time he is an avid basketball player and an expert in Beatles trivia. His nickname is the Girl Magnet. Alex Wolff Alex started out playing the sax when he was two years old, but decided he liked the drums better, and switched when he was four — then was immediately hired by his brother’s Silver Boulders Band. Alex is natural comedian and is known for the best comeback lines. Besides being an amazing drummer, singer-songwriter, he is also a championship basketball player and skateboarder. His nickname is A&W Skittles and has huge doorag and fake tattoo collection. "The Naked Brothers Band" is his first acting gig. Allie DiMeco Allie began acting at the age of five. Her first television appearance was on David Letterman when she was in Kindergarten. Other television credits include "One Life to Live," "SNL," and national commercials. Theatre credits include: "The King and I" (National Tour 1998-1999) as Princess Ying Yawolak. She is an accomplished writer, avid gymnast, cheerleader, and softball player. Her goal is to attend college, become a journalist, and work for a magazine in NYC, eventually to become a broadcast journalist like Barbara Walters. Cooper Pillot Cooper’s major interests, in addition to acting, are sports (particularly basketball), writing, and now, playing the saxophone. Cooper’s acting debut was in Polly Draper’s play "Getting Into Heaven" at the Flea Theater in New York City (2003). He has co-written "The KIDZONE," a sports television series for kids and their parents, which is being developed in association with the Translation Agency. Cole East Hawkins Cole was discovered while shopping on 17th street in Manhattan at the age of five. His film roles include: "School of Rock," "Changing Lanes," "Big Daddy," "Meet the Parents," "Music of the Heart," "Kate and Leopold," "Pootie Tang" (as Little Pootie), and "The Water is Wide." Has appeared in "Law and Order," "Third Watch," and many commercials. Currently a freshman in High School, is on the Tennis and Cross-County Track teams. Plays Alto Sax, Guitar, and Clarinet. Loves to skateboard, dance, and is an expert of the entire NYC metro system. Joshua Kaye Josh began playing the cello when he was four and joined the Silver Boulders as an original member when he met Nat, while attending the Beginnings school. As the band’s music evolved, he moved from cello to the guitar, violin, recorder, and now trombone. Josh debuted at Carnegie Hall with the School for Strings in 2001 Josh is an avid fisherman, lacrosse player, and chess player. He is passionate about the environment and hopes to design environmentally responsible energy sources as one of his lifetime goals. He loves physical comedy and practical jokes. This is Josh’s first film Thomas Batuello Thomas is also an original Silver Boulder member from pre-school, playing the drums at first and then switching to cello. He has appeared at the Met in "Madame Butterfly," Carnegie Hall, and his grandmother’s theater in New York City. This is Tom’s first film. Thomas is in the fifth grade, next year he will be in the sixth grade. David Julian Levi David is an original member of The Silver Boulders Band and began playing the keyboards in the band at pre-school while attending Beginnings school. Has a reputation as being the politest member of the band. He enjoys all types of sports (especially baseball), memorizing baseball facts, and stats, drawing, reading, and being funny (which he does very well). This is David’s first film Jesse Draper Jesse is a senior at UCLA’s school of Theater, Film, and Television concentrating on acting currently doing Caryl Churchill’s Top Girls. The Naked Brothers Band was Jesse’s first film. Television credits include American Dreams. She enjoys dancing, spending time with her family, and eating chocolate. Upon graduation she plans on continuing to act and starting her own production company. It is believed that she has superhuman powers. Michael Wolff Michael Wolff is a brilliant and innovative pianist and composer with a wealth of straight ahead jazz credentials such as Sonny Rollins, Nancy Wilson, Airto, Cal Tjader, Cannonball Adderley, the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra, Jean Luc Ponty, as well as an impressive body of movie soundtrack work, "Dark Angel" and "The Tic Code". Michael Wolff addresses his own musical roots while incorporating a fresh world beat sensibility as leader of his inventive band, Impure Thoughts, featuring John B. Williams on bass, Mike Clark on drums, and Badal Roy on tablas. Michael exhibited a natural talent for music at an early age. He began classical piano lessons at the age of 8, and went through a series of local bands before landing his first significant professional gig at age 19 with Latin jazz pioneer, Cal Tjader. In 1975, the great alto saxophonist, Cannonball Adderley, hired Wolff. That high profile gig led to stints with Sonny Rollins, Airto Moreira, and the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra before Wolff became the musical director, arranger, and pianist for singer Nancy Wilson. For Wilson, he wrote orchestral arrangements and conducted over 25 major symphonies worldwide. Taking his talents to television, Wolff became the musical director for the popular "Arsenio Hall Show." He held that position for the full 5-year-run of the show. After his tenure on television ended, Wolff jumped back into the jazz scene with a string of highly regarded recordings.
