Young Jeezy has made a killing in the club his entire career. Several years into his musical run, the night life still excites the veteran rapper — maybe that's why his latest single, "R.I.P.," is such a fun ride. Why else would stars like 2 Chainz, Snoop Dogg, Trey Songz and Ludacris show up at a shoot for the track's video?
"I'm a party dude. I'm a club animal. I go hard in the club," the Snowman told on set at Greystone Manor in West Hollywood last month. The video is set to drop this week.
The DJ Mustard-produced track, which was featured on Jeezy's It's Tha World mixtape, features an appearance from 2 Chainz, so his participation in the video is expected. The other A-listers? They were just there for Jizzle.
"I was shooting a video and everybody just came through and showed love. They stayed longer than was asked and they did everything they were supposed to do," Young said of his V.I.P. guest list which included Nelly, E-40, Nipsey Hussle, YG, Ne-Yo and the aforementioned Snoop Dogg, Trey and Luda.
"You see who your real friends are and the people who love your movement," he added.
As for the single, which is steady creeping up Billboard's rap charts, Jeezy noted that he is clearly just having a good time. "When you leave the club you just wanna body it. You wanna be the best dressed, you wanna drink all the champagne, all the vodka and you wanna get all the grils — and that's killin' the club," he explained of the meaning behind the title "R.I.P." "When you leave, it should feel like a murder scene."
