50 Cent says his 2009 rivalry with Rick Ross was just "part of the culture" of hip-hop.
The pair famously traded insults on tracks Mafia Music by Rick and Officer Ricky by 50 Cent.
However, 50 Cent insists that these feuds shouldn't be taken too seriously. He believes the pair were battling not beefing.
"This is why they changed the terminology from battling to beefing," he explained. "It was always that battling was a part of the culture; they didn't do that until Tupac and Biggie Smalls' situation. That's when it became taboo to actually mention an artist's name."
The rapper reinforced this belief back in October after Rick suffered two seizures.
50 Cent told Rick on the social networking site Twitter that he has to take better care of himself.
"I don't wish DEATH on him my grandfather had a seizure," he later commented.
50 Cent has hinted that there is still some bitterness between him and Rick. The star says Rick only started a rivalry with him to raise his own profile.
"He says it started because I looked at him the wrong way," he recalled. "That just means he wanted to compete, he wanted to move up, he wanted to create an awareness for himself, and he did it."
