Adam Levine was terrified of asking Behati Prinsloo's father for permission to marry her.
The Maroon 5 frontman was known as a ladies' man before he settled down and proposed to his Victoria's Secret girlfriend in July last year. The couple got engaged after a brief split in May, just weeks after Adam had been seen on a romantic holiday with model Nina Agdal.
"I did ask his permission. I don't want to talk about it, you know how I am; but yes, of course I did. I had to. And it was extremely nerve-racking," The Voice coach revealed in an interview with Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show.
The 35-year-old singer will reportedly tie the knot with Behati on July 19. The couple's destination wedding will reportedly take place in Los Cabos, Mexico.
Adam wasn't just on the show to discuss his upcoming nuptials, his band have also been working on new music. Maroon 5 released their latest single Maps on Monday morning.
"Every time we release a single, it always feels like the first time," Adam exclaimed. "I always get those butterflies."
Adam is also excited about the debut of the band's new album titled V, which is set to drop in September. His US The Voice co-judge and fellow singer Gwen Stefani will appear on the record.
"It's my favourite one that we've ever done," Adam told Ryan. "I'm so excited about this album. Mostly because I think that what we always do with every record… it's kind of everything we've ever done as a band musically.
"It's what we used to sound like, it's what we sound like now, it's what we want to sound like tomorrow. It's all those elements all combined to make one, I think, really great album."
