Adam Levine offers to pay for Christina Grimmie funeral

Adam Levine has personally offered to pay for former The Voice finalist Christina Grimmie's funeral arrangements, according to her brother.

The Maroon 5 frontman mentored the 22-year-old on season six of the hit singing show in 2014, helping her reach the final and finish in third place.

But following her tragic death in Orlando, Florida, after 27-year-old gunman Kevin James Loibl opened fire during a fan meet and greet, Adam was quick to pay his respects to the talented singer and has now reached out to her family to offer his support financially.

"I first heard from my sisters manager, Brian Teefey, that he will be making a gofundme (campaign) to help our family move out of our current house and to take care of the funeral, and I figured why not, and I'm not about sharing that kind of stuff and I'm not a fan of handouts at all," Marcus Grimmie writes on Facebook.com.

"I found out this morning, that Adam Levine personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight, and I was blown away. Now a friend just told me to look at the gofundme page and I see it is at 100k. Words cannot express... literally I have no words.

"I will read every one of these personalized messages. I'm so blown away by everything right now. But all I can say is thank you. And Christina will be missed and never ever forgotten."

Christina was signing autographs after her concert at the Plaza Live Theater with rock band Before You Exit when Loibl, armed with two guns walked up and shot her, before shooting himself as the star's brother Mark tackled him. Christina was rushed to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.

Christina's GoFundMe.com page has reached over $130,000 (GBP91,100) in donations as of press time.
