Adam Levine ‘impulsive’ with language

Adam Levine admits that he has quite a loose tongue.

The Maroon 5 crooner is known for making controversial statements.

This week he shocked the American public by muttering "I hate this country" during a taping of his TV talent programme The Voice. The star said this after two of the contestants he coached were eliminated.

In a pre-recorded interview set to air on CBS Sunday Morning on June 2, Adam acknowledges his tendency to speak rashly.

"I'm very much okay with who I am and comfortable in my skin enough to embrace that even though I don't say everything the right way and you know, tend to be a bit impulsive with some of the words that I select," he confessed.

Immediately after the uproar broke out about his statement Adam took to Twitter to express his sentiments on the matter.

He made it clear what he said was not serious by tweeting the definition of the word "joke" to his followers.

A day later he formally apologised to those whom he offended.

"I obviously love my country very much and my comments last night were made purely out of frustration," he told Us Weekly. "Being a part of The Voice, I am passionately invested in my team and want to see my artists succeed. Last night's elimination of Judith and Sarah was confusing and downright emotional for me and my comments were made based on my personal dissatisfaction with the results."
