Adele reportedly kept silent about her son's name because she was considering a few different monikers.
The British singer has kept the name of her infant a secret since he was born three months ago, but earlier this week she was spotted wearing a gold necklace baring the name Angelo. It has now been claimed that Adele and her partner Simon Konecki were planning to call their first child together after a member of their family, until they opted for Angelo James Konecki instead.
"They've called him Angelo James. What a lovely name," a source told British newspaper The Sun. "They were supposedly mulling over John, after Adele's grandfather, though.
"They wanted to keep their choice quiet until they were ready, and wearing the necklace suggests she now is. It is only a name."
When she attended the Golden Globes earlier this month, Adele referred to her son as 'Little Peanut'.
She also explained why she was keeping her baby out of the spotlight.
"I am exhausted, that's how [motherhood] changed me. I have eczema from boiling bottles," she laughed. "I am not sharing his name at the moment. It is very personal to me. I am enjoying him on my own."
Adele and Simon welcomed their son on October 19 last year.
Yesterday it was revealed that the 24-year-old star will perform at the Oscars next month.
The star's James Bond track Skyfall has been recognised in best original song category.
She admitted the prospect of singing the tune at the glitzy Academy Awards ceremony on February 24 is "terrifyingly wonderful".
