Adele is designing one of the "most eco-friendly houses" in her neighbourhood.
The Someone Like You star's £2million beachside house in Sussex, England, will be powered by solar panels with low voltage lighting.
She is also building a state-of-the-art studio for recording music.
"Adele's house is something to behold. She's having loads of work done at the moment so she won't move in for a while," a source told The Sun.
"But when she does, she'll have one of the most eco-friendly houses in the area."
The 23-year-old can certainly afford the home - her second studio album 21 is the 33rd biggest seller in the US since the tracking of record sales began in 1991.
The album earned Adele six Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, the most won by a female artist in one night. 21 has gone platinum 15 times in the UK and has held the top position in the US longer than any other album since 1985.
The London-born performer was recently named the wealthiest singer in the UK under the age of 30 in The Sunday Times Rich List, having amassed a £20 million fortune with an increase of £14 million in the past 12 months alone.
The list highlights the fact that 21 has propelled her fortune at such a tender age.
