ADELE IS set to appear in a feature spread in fashion bible Vogue.
Off the back of the singer's Stateside success, the magazine's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour met her ahead of the shoot in New York.
But Adele said meeting Wintour was "just like The Devil Wears Prada".
Wintour is believed to be the inspiration behind the best-selling 2003 book The Devil Wears Prada, which was made into a successful film starring Meryl Streep as ruthless fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly.
Talking to AP Television, Adele, 20, said: "I went to go do my final fitting for the shoot.
"Then Anna Wintour wanted to meet me, so I was waiting in the hallway.
"It was just like The Devil Wears Prada. It was amazing. I was really frightened and I went in and she was so nice.
"She was like: 'What labels do you like?' I was trying to make up these designers that I was quite sure I had read in Vogue or something before."
Adele, whose photos for the shoot will be taken by acclaimed celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz, said Wintour then offered to style her for the forthcoming Grammy Awards.
The London-born singer has been nominated for four awards, including Record of the Year for her single Chasing Pavements.
She said she'd chosen a "really nice" frock, and said: "I don't ever wear dresses. I wear dresses with tights and flat shoes and a cardigan.
"But I am going to get my boobs out and everything. It's going to be quite a big deal."
