The 23-year-old singer admitted that she is so scared about losing sight of who she is that she turned down three dates at the O2 Arena, thought to be worth about £500,000, so that she can hang out with her pals in some of their old haunts.
Talking about her plans, she told Q magazine, 'That's all I'll be doing - sitting in Brockwell Park with my friends, drinking cider.
'I've been doing this since I was 18 and if I do it how I could do it, if I worked my **** off for ten years, I'd miss my whole twenties.
'I think that's where my insecurities have been coming in. What if I come out the other end and I don't know who I am? It would be horrible.
'You've got to build up relationships. I'm at a point where I'm making my friends for life. I don't want to forget how to be normal. You've got to go out and have a laugh.'
Adele, whose album 21 has spent 16 weeks at No 1 in the UK chart, was offered three dates at the O2 Arena, which would probably have paid her around £500k.
And she insisted that she doesn't care that much about the money anyway.
'I like things now I've got it but I'd still be alive and healthy and a good person if I didn't have money,' she said.
