Adele has so many new lyrics her next record could be released this year.
The British singer and her partner Simon Konecki welcomed their son into the world in October last year and since then she has retreated from the limelight.
Having previously said she was planning some time off to focus on her relationship and baby, it now seems Adele has the singing bug again. She has apparently already begun work on her new LP.
"Adele is making a start on another album after going off the radar since giving birth. Even though she's been busy enjoying family life with Simon and the baby, she's also been writing during her time off, so arrived at the studio ready to start working hard straight away. The album could even be released later this year," an insider told Heat magazine.
Adele hasn't released an album since 2011's 21. The record performed well throughout 2012 as well and was recently named the best-selling record in America during both 2011 and 2012.
The singer did hit the charts with her single Skyfall last year, which was the title track to the latest James Bond film.
The 24-year-old singer has previously said she doesn't like to rush when working on new sounds.
"I have to take time and live a bit," she said. "There were a good two years between my first and second albums, so it'll be the same this time."
There have been rumours Adele could make her comeback with a performance at the Oscars next month.
The ceremony is paying tribute to the 50th anniversary of the James Bond film franchise, and Adele looks set to give a special rendition of her theme tune for Skyfall.
The track has also been tipped to receive a best original song nod when the Oscar nominations are announced tomorrow.
