HIP HOP star Akon has been found guilty of harassment after he threw a teenage fan off stage during a concert.
The rapper, real name Aliaune Thiam was fined £160 (£250) and ordered to do 65 hours of community service.
A court in Fishkill, New York heard how fan Abby Rosa claimed she was injured after the star threw the teenager off stage at a concert in the town in June last year.
She said she was hit by the boy and later told a newspaper she had been diagnosed with concussion.
Other members of the audience of the concert said they saw someone in the crowd throw an object at the singer.
They said Thiam asked the audience to point to the culprit before getting his security guards to pick the 15-year-old boy out and bring him onstage.
The rapper is then said to have lifted the boy on his shoulders before throwing him into the crowd.
Wearing a grey suit and coat, he refused to comment to the waiting press as he left court but apologised to the victim after his father confronted him and said: "You threw my son off the stage."
According to local newspaper the Poughkeepsie Journal , Akon reportedly smiled and said "We never had a chance to talk".
