Alicia Keys felt like a "kid in a candy store" performing with Stevie Wonder.
The singer-songwriter honoured the legendary music star with the Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday. As well as making a heartfelt speech about Stevie at the ceremony, Alicia also joined the musician for a rendition of Higher Ground and Overjoyed.
She was thrilled to collaborate with one of her idols and posted pictures of the pair planning their duet on her Twitter page.
"Backstage working out the songs. with#steviewonder yesterday! I'm like a kid in a candy store! (sic)" she wrote.
As Stevie accepted his Icon Award, he asked Alicia to give an a capella verse of Empire State of Mind, to the delight of the audience.
Stevie used his acceptance speech to urge the world to come together.
"We are in a place in life where we have to commit ourselves to one thing. And that is to love," he said. "And I truly believe that love ultimately will always rule over hate, and peace over war... We can change the world by being as one."
Alicia wasn't the only famous face enjoying herself at the Billboard Music Awards.
Pink was also in attendance and was full of praise for Justin Bieber's performance.
"i like this boyfriend song.... i also would really like one of those glow in the dark dancer outfits!!! Hawt (sic)," she tweeted.
The star also revealed her husband Carey Hart had taken a liking to LMFAO's tunes. She joked that his newfound interest in the group would mean he would be stripping off more often.
"@hartluck is now a converted LMFAO fan. i want him to dance around in his underwear.... (sic)," Pink wrote.
