The singer reached the landmark age on January 25 and her husband, music producer Swizz Beatz, decided to throw Alicia a lavish bash in New York. The party was held at Casa La Femme, which specialises in traditional dishes from Northern Egypt.
Even though the US city was hit by a snow blizzard on the evening of the event, Alicia and her celebrity friends braved the plunging temperatures to party the night away.
“Nineteen inches of snow didn't keep Alicia Keys from celebrating her 30th birthday at Casa La Femme with a late-night, Egyptian-theme soiree thrown by her husband, Kasseem ‘Swizz Beatz’ Dean. Gayle King, Jay-Z and Beyoncé were a few of her friends who braved the blizzard to get there,” reports the New York Post.
Guests were treated to performances by exotic belly dancers and the venue had been filled with orange trees and sunflowers. Along with delicious Egyptian cuisine, red velvet cupcakes and Dom Perignon champagne were also served.
Alicia – who has a three-month-old son Egypt Daoud Dean with Swizz – left the bash at around 5am. So much snow had fallen, restaurant staff had to help dig her car out before she could depart.
