Alicia Keys is New York City's biggest fan.
The American songstress released track Empire State of Mind with Jay Z in October 2009, in which she sings about different parts of the Big Apple and how dreams can be accomplished in the city.
The 33-year-old is a New York native and has pinpointed some of her favourite hangout spots for British magazine Stylist, including her top restaurants and hidden gems.
"It's so alive. It's my favourite city in the world," Alicia gushed to the publication.
Alicia is currently expecting her second child with husband Swizz Beatz. The happy couple are already proud parents to son Egypt, three, but they know exactly where to head when they need some alone time.
"I always go to the Mandarin Oriental when I want to spoil myself; they do the-most incredible couple's massage. I don't go there all the time. I save it for a special occasion," Alicia smiled, of her favourite indulgence.
Alicia is a keen art lover and often visits galleries when she has some down time. The Mary Boone Gallery is her first port of call when she fancies some culture.
"One of my favourite places is Crosby Street [in Lower Manhattan]. There are so many artists there and, despite the fact it's right next to Broadway, it has this real secret feel to it and you can find the coolest stores there," she added.
Alicia also calls out restaurant EN Japanese Brasserie for the best sushi in the city and Argo Tea for when she fancies a hot beverage.
Despite playing the world over and amassing a cabinet that boasts 15 Grammys and ten Billboard awards, one of Alicia's favourite music venues to play at is still in her home city.
"I recorded my Unplugged album at BAM in Brooklyn and I'll never forget that night – it's a really special place. It's basically this big house that puts on live music, theatre, dance and movies," she revealed.
