Mercury Prize winners Alt-J have unveiled their first new material from new album This Is All Yours and since the departure of bassist Gwil Sainsbury. Listen to new single 'Hunger Of The Pine' below.
The track starts as a subtle bubbling electro affair, lifted by their inimitable floating vocals - before slowly building into a Radiohead-esque trip-hop driven piece of cinematic indie, and even features a vocal sample from Miley Cyrus' '4x4.
Explaining the track to BBC Radio One's Zane Lowe, keyboardist Gus Unger-Hamilton said: "It came quite late really - a lot of songs were ideas we've been batting around over the two years we've been touring,"
Commenting on Sainsbury's departure, he added: "He left right before we started making the album basically. He was not enjoying aspects of the lifestyle of being in a band." Unger-Hamilton went on to say that the band will be joined by other musicians for their upcoming tour. "I think there'll be some people coming on tour with us. I think it's gonna be just fine."
This Is All Yours will be released on 19 September. The band will also tour in September 2014. See dates and ticket details below.
