Following the news of Animal Collective's Panda Bear releasing a solo album, Avey Tare announces his own.
The choice of hipsters worldwide, Animal Collective have always been a disparate group of artists.
In late-June Panda Bear (aka Noah Lennox) announced his fourth solo album Tomboy and set to releasing the songs as singles on vinyl.
Now Avey Tare (aka David Portner) will release his debut solo album (not counting his split 12-inch of 2003 or the Eric Copeland and Kria Brekken collabs of 2005-2007).
Pitchfork reveals that Avey Tare's album will be called Down There and will be released on October 26 through the band's own Paw Tracks label.
It was recorded by Animal Collective member Deacon (aka Deaken aka Josh Dibb), will feature nine tracks, and is reportedly heavily influenced by Avey Tare's obsession with crocodiles.
