Overview
Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem and MIA are all in the running for the American Shortlist Prize, it has been announced.
In total, ten acts will compete for the award, which is considered the US equivalent of the Mercury Prize, after the initial 54 nominees were cut.
Justice, Wilco, Burial and Spoon will also go head-to-head for the gong.

The winner of the 2008 Shortlist Prize will be revealed next month.
