Arcade Fire star Will Butler is set to stage a lecture at his former university.
Butler will meet students at Northwestern in Chicago on November 2 to discuss mixing his music career with social activism.
The keynote forms part of Civically Engaged Young Alumni Week, which is a three-day event sponsored by the Center for Civic Engagement.
Asha Toulmin, of the Center, told the University’s website: “He’s a really unique and interesting individual because he’s taken a field like music that a lot of people don’t necessarily associate with social activism.
“He’s a really good example of how you can incorporate that mentality into whatever you do.”
Arcade Fire are currently touring in support of their number one album, ‘The Suburbs’.
