Fans probably stopped keeping track of what round Rihanna and Ciara are in in their long-standing beef. But, as far as the "Body Party" singer is concerned, she no longer wants any part of it.
"You know what? I'm cool on it. I couldn't tell you anything, anything more at this point," she explained to MTV News about she and Rihanna's past spats. "I think I've said all I could possibly say when it pertains to her and, you know, that's pretty much it."
Her comments come just days after the singers took more verbal jabs at one another, with Rih teasing Ciara for constantly having to answer questions about their relationship. For her part, Ciara, using lyrics from Rih's collaboration with Future "Loveeeeeee Song," wanted to know why Rihanna seems to have an "obsession" with her.
Still, Ciara insists she's more focused on her new single with beau Future than any girl fights.
"That's a small thing in the pond, in the pond of fish, I guess, you can say in my world. And the blessing is that right now, which is exciting for me, is my fans are really loving the music," she said of "Body Party," the lead single off her self-titled summer album.
She added, "[The fans are] really loving the record and the record's been moving very fast. So, thanks to my fans. But, you know, I feel like that's like a point zero percent of the equation. Like, it really doesn't matter. Like, it doesn't make or break me. It doesn't do anything for me. It is what it is. It's not even a distraction. It's not a distraction."
Much of their feuding stems back to a February 2011 appearance Ciara made on E!'s "Fashion Police" where she shared that at a party the "Stay" singer "wasn't the nicest." Rih hit back on Twitter with the jab "did I forget to tip you." It escalated into a back-and-forth, and after some discourse, the women seemed to cool down, with Rih even apologizing.
This spring, their feud seemed to have heated up once again, as Ciara is making the rounds promoting her new project. It also probably didn't help that Rih seemed to have poked fun at Ciara's new single on Instagram right before her press party.
During a recent stop by MTV2's "Week In Jams," the singer further elaborated on the subject, noting that if fans really want to know what is fueling their on-again, off-again, on-again feud, they should ask Rihanna.
"I can't tell you anything. You have to ask her. I mean, she's so vocal maybe she can say whatever it is. I don't know," she explained. "And at this point, I don't care. I really don't care. I wish her well. She has a lot of great things going on with her. I mean she's like rockin', doing it really, really, really big. We're women in this. It don't need to be all that. She's got too much good going on to even be consumed with that kind of energy so I don't know. I wish her well."
