Aretha Franklin has announced her engagement to long-term partner William "Willie" Wilkerson.
The 69-year-old 'Queen Of Soul' joked that she wasn't pregnant, releasing a statement saying: “We're looking at June or July for our date, and no, I'm not pregnant, LOL!”
Franklin has been married twice before and has suggested a private yacht as the venue for the reception and Miami Beach in Florida as a possible location.
The soul singer is mother to four boys but has never revealed the father of her first two sons. She has won 18 Grammys throughout her career for singles such as 'Respect' but was quiet through most of the last decade.
Franklin returned to singing in May – releasing her first album since 2003 titled 'A Woman Falling Out Of Love' – after undergoing plastic surgery to combat a mystery illness which saw her hospitalised and lose six stone.
