The 68-year-old was hospitalised for several days last week for an undisclosed reason and now she's been ordered to cancel all her concerts and public appearances until May 2011.
Publicist Tracey Jordan told the Detroit Free Press, 'Doctors' orders have required her to cancel all concert and personal appearances through May 2011.'
Jordan would not confirm whether her hospital stay and the cancellations were related, but said simply she 'is resting comfortably at home'.
However, a source reportedly told the US newspaper that Franklin's illness is not terminal. 'She's not dying,' the unnamed insider said.
She was also forced to cancel two shows in Brooklyn in August after falling at home and fracturing two ribs.
