On Friday, while on the road to promote her album A Woman Falling Out Of Love, the music legend suffered a setback in her Dallas hotel suite when she accidentally tripped over a pile of her own footwear.
Franklin stumbled over one of her Jimmy Choo heels, which got caught on her toe.
The 69-year-old said it 'hurt like heck for a minute but seemed to subside.'
Despite this, the Queen of Soul's tour bus had to make an unscheduled stop at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis, where X-rays revealed she had fractured her left toe.
She said: 'I'm so grateful it wasn't my right piano [pedal] foot.'
According to People.com, Aretha, who is still due to perform in Virginia tonight, added: 'How am I supposed to match my new Marc Jacobs gown with this wooden blue hospital shoe?'
