A community prayer vigil has been held for soul queen Aretha Franklin before she undergoes a medical procedure.
Franklin cancelled all of her 2011 concerts and appearances on the recommendation of her doctors.
This followed her release from the Detroit's Sinai-Grace hospital, where she spent a week in care at the start of November.
AP reports that the day before Franklin goes into hospital again for another medical procedure, a local councilwoman and others have held a prayer vigil to wish her well.
Franklin did not attend, but thanked the City Council in a statement, saying 'all prayers are good.'
Her treatment will be conducted on Thursday.
