Overview
Aretha Franklin has been forced to cancel all of her appearances for the next six months. Orders came from her doctors after a short hospitalization from which she was released on October 30. There has been no word on the reason for the hospital stay or the six months of rest.
A statement was released by her spokesperson Tracey Jordan saying "The award winning songstress sends her sincerest apologies to her loyal followers and colleagues for the canceled shows. Ms. Franklin is resting comfortably at home, but is very anxious to get back on the road to perform for her countless fans around the world."
The announcement comes one week after the cancellation of shows in Missouri and Connecticut. At the time, a statement was made to Pollstar saying that only the October concerts were being canceled.
