Rapper A$AP Rocky (born Rakim Mayers) was arrested in New York on Thursday night after he reportedly got into it with two people who tried to take a photo of him on the street.
According to TMZ, the 23-year-old "Purple Swag" MC was taken into custody after he got into a verbal dispute with an unnamed person in downtown Manhattan. In the midst of the confrontation, two bystanders reportedly began taking pictures of the argument.
Rocky and an unidentified friend then turned and confronted the two amateur paparazzi and a fight erupted between all four. TMZ reported that the unnamed victims suffered bruises and cuts, with one requiring treatment at a hospital.
The rapper was arrested and was expected to be booked for attempted robbery, though it was unknown at press time what he's accused of trying to steal. The Karen Civil website posted what were purported to be photos of the arrest showing Rocky and an unidentified shirtless man being cuffed by police.
Rocky was recently seen in the video for Lana Del Rey's "National Anthem," playing a swaggering John F. Kennedy to her Jackie O.
