Babyshambles sign £1m record deal

Babyshambles have reportedly signed a whopping £1 million record deal.

It seems that frontman Pete Doherty's new clean-living lifestyle has impressed record bosses - and execs at Parlophone have signed up the band.

A friend of Pete told The Daily Mirror: "He's over the moon because The Beatles were with Parlophone.

"That means a lot to him.

"The band can't wait to get their new music on the shelves.

"It's a very exciting time because a lot of record labels were after them, but in the end they got the best deal money-wise and album-wise with Parlophone."

The paper says that Pete and his cronies Drew McConnell, Mick Whitnall and Adam Ficek will be cashing in on 60% of royalties.

The band was dropped by Rough Trade earlier this year but hope to have a new album on the shelves by Christmas.

27-year-old Pete is in The Priory until September 4, where he is being treated for drug addiction before he is sentenced for multiple drug offences.
