British dance nutters Basement Jaxx prepare an album in collaboration with Dutch orchestra Metropole Orkest.
Pitchfork has brought it to our attention that following the two groups' live liaison in Eindhoven, Netherlands, they hit the studio and will release an album of live and studio tunes.
So, a 60-piece orchestra and a 20 person choir perform songs from the Jaxx catalogue as well as tunes from the group's Felix Buxton.
They also drafted in a couple of guest singers ' Lisa Kekaula from the Bellrays, and Sharlene Hector (who has also sung with Gorillaz).
The 15-track album (with three bonus tracks on iTunes), Basement Jaxx Vs. Metropole Orkest, will be released July 11 on their Atlantic Jaxx label.
They'll also be performing together live at the Barbican in London on July 14 and 15.
