Bat For Lashes new single

Bat For Lashes releases the single 'Daniel' on 1 March, the first to be taken from the forthcoming album Two Suns. Having already graced the covers of Dazed & Confused and Plan B in the UK and Fader in the US, 2009 is set to be the year of the Bat and marks a triumphant return for the Mercury and Brit nominated artist.

Inspired by Natasha's first crush, 'Daniel' is a song of teenage love and nostalgia where Khan sings of long summer nights, driving through forests at night with her boyfriend and longing for a return to the innocence of adolescence. With layered vocals and twisted synths, it's an exhilarating pop moment, powered by Yeasayer's Ira Wolf Tuton who can be heard playing the Fleetwood Mac-style bass lines.

'Daniel' will be available on digital download from 1 March followed by a limited 7" vinyl release on 6 April.

Featuring songs from Two Suns on the soundtrack, it's a unique taster for fans and newcomers alike to hear the new material and experience Khan's inspirations, as well as an insight into what she's been up to since her debut.

The highly anticipated second album Two Suns is released on 6 April, followed by a full UK headline tour starting on April 7. A second date in London has been added after the first sold out, Bat For Lashes will now play two nights at Shepherd's Bush Empire on 17 & 19 April.
