Brit Award nominee Bat For Lashes - aka singer-songwriter Natasha Khan spoke to Xfm about moving to New York to record the follow-up to 'Fur And Gold'.
Asked when work would commence on her new album, Khan said: "I'm starting in the studio next week. I'm trying to write with a whole bunch of crazy New York musicians who are up for coming and collaborating."
Though enthusiastic about her collaborators, Khan refused to give too much away with what to expect. She explained:
"A couple of people from Gang Gang Dance, this cool band from Williamsburg, they're gonna play drums and synths and I'm not gonna give away too much but it might involve like choirs and beats and electronics...so it's all gonna be a big mixture."
So should Bat For Lashes fans expect a radical departure from her debut?
"I don't think it could be too wildly different because it always comes from the heart and that's coming from the same place but I think it's gonna be more visceral, a bit more beaty and possibly a bit more darker."
