Billie Piper says being a mother is the "toughest job" she's ever had.
The 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl' actress - who gave birth to Winston, her first child with husband Laurence Fox, three months ago - admits she was completely unprepared for parenthood.
She said: "I had absolutely no idea how tiring being a mum was - or how hard mums have to work. I have worked some sh***y hours in my life, but these are the toughest I've ever had."
Despite feeling tired, Billie is blissfully happy in her new role and says Winston is her "best friend for life".
She revealed: "That feeling of unconditional love - I used to think it was so cheesy when people said that before, but it's something I finally understand. The smiling, it's amazing. And having a new best friend for life."
Billie - who suffered from an eating disorder in the past - added she is enjoying motherhood so much she is in no rush to shift her post-pregnancy pounds, insisting the most important thing for her is to lose weight healthily.
She told Britain's Hello! magazine: "As far as I am concerned, exercise is the most boring thing in the world. If I do anything, I just pound away on the treadmill. I don't find ways to enjoy it more because it's pointless. It's hard enough with a baby and thinking about work again - it gets too much.
"I am going to start. The diet, the regime - it will start. It will be quite intense. It's boring and hellish, I'm sure, but if you've got to bare you're a*s on TV, you don't want it to look bad."
