Overview
Grammy award winning singer Billy Joel tried to commit suicide by drinking furniture polish because he was distressed by having an affair with his drummer's wife.
According to Internet Movie Database, Joel revealed this in a new book called "Billy Joel: The Life And Times Of A Young Man". In it he also reveals that having to keep his affair with Elizabeth Small a secret left him depressed and he was ready to end his life.
Joel was saved by the very man he was betraying - drummer Jon Small, who rushed Joel to the hospital. Joel was later transferred to a psychiatric ward.document.write(unescape("
