THE BLACK CROWES recently wrapped up their last scheduled U.S. show in San Francisco as part of a six-show sold-out run at the Fillmore December 12-19--and will embark on their final shows in Europe, with two very special nights at London's O2 Shepherds Bush Empire and one in Manchester at the Academy, then concluding their 20th anniversary tour in (appropriately) Amsterdam with a two-night engagement at the Paradiso. The band recently announced they are going on an indefinite hiatus to spend time with family and work on other projects.
On their 2010 'Say Goodnight To The Bad Guys' U.S. tour, The Black Crowes--Chris Robinson (vocals/guitar), Rich Robinson (guitar), Steve Gorman (drums), Sven Pipien (bass), Luther Dickinson (guitar) and Adam MacDougall (keyboards)--played two sets (one acoustic, one electric) most nights, varying songs each night with hits, deep album cuts, new music and select covers, illuminating their 20-year career of cosmic American music. At the Fillmore, the group also performed the Stones' 'Midnight Rambler' plus--as the final song of the Fillmore run--'The Last Time.'
In anticipation of the upcoming lengthy hiatus, the iconic and influential band recorded and released CROWEOLOGY (Silver Arrow/ Megaforce Records) their first-ever double acoustic album, which features new arrangements of their best-loved songs and the band's catalogue picks. In a four-star Rolling Stone review, David Fricke said, 'the album is much better than a greatest-hits affair, it's a reason to go on,'.
The final UK shows of the 'Say Goodnight To The Bad Guys' tour are as follows:
July 2011
Monday 11 Manchester, Academy
Tuesday 12 London, O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
Wednesday 13 London, O2 Shepherds Bush Empire
* Two set performances / Acoustic and Electric in London in Manchester it will be a full electric set
