Having completed a sell out UK tour, appeared at the Patti Smith curated Meltdown festival and supported U2 in Glasgow, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club release a brand new single ‘Ain't No Easy Way' for The Echo Label/Abstract Dragon on 15th August followed by their third album ‘Howl' on 22nd August. The band (guitarist/vocalist Peter Hayes/ by bassist/vocalist Robert Levon Been and drummer Nick Jago) will also perform at the Carling Weekend: Reading & Leeds Festivals at the end of August.
BRMC are also set to play an exclusive Carling Live Sessions show at the intimate Barfly, London on Thursday 25th August. This gig will be a one-off opportunity to see the band play a stripped down acoustic set at the intimate venue on the eve of their appearance at the Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds Festivals.
Tickets for this show cost £10 (plus booking fee) and will be on sale at 10am, Thursday 4th August via Carlinglive.com. Support is to be announced.
The band will also be playing London's Garage on August 22nd, however, that show quickly sold out soon after it was announced. Therefore tickets to the Barfly gig are likely to go fast!
The album shows quite a departure from the bands last two records with a wide range of influences shining through, from country and folk music to classic soul, blues, pop and r&b. With a lot of the songs originally written on acoustic guitars, the recording was done over the last year and features autoharp, piano, congas, slide guitar, timpani's, harmonica and even trombones.
