The Gossip Girl actress said that she always stays positive but if she feels herself getting down, she turns to ice cream and music.
She told WWD, 'When I was four I was walking down the street and I thought it's the perfect day to be happy, and I never really lost that.
'I've just always believed you should put a lot of positive out there. When I have bad days, I just eat lots of chocolate ice cream and dance to the Lion King soundtrack. It's really odd, but it's true.'
The 23-year-old added that she prefers to take on roles about complex characters.
Talking about her new film Hick, in which she plays a woman battling addiction, she said, 'I don't believe that people are just black and white, so I do love when there are women that are gray. It's such a human story, but it's told with an almost magical element.
'I never plan my career out. I fell into acting, and the fortunate side of that is that every job I've taken has been case by case because I wanted to do it.'
