Blink-182 Return with 'Up All Night' Single: Listen

After an eight-year wait, Blink-182 fans finally have some new music. The pop-punk veterans unveiled "Up All Night," the first single from their still-untitled, self-produced new album, Thursday night (July 14).

"Up All Night" sounds as ripe for a stadium sing-along as any previous Blink single, with guitarists Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge singing, "And all these demons/They keep me up all night," before Travis Barker pummels his drum kit and the soaring chorus kicks in. The verse and bridge riffs retain their palm-muted glory, but the track's main riff is much heavier than anything in previous Blink singles.

On Wednesday, Blink-182 announced that "Up All Night" would premiere on Friday morning on Los Angeles radio station KROQ-FM, but the track was posted in full to their official website the night before. In a conference call last month, Hoppus hinted that Blink-182's new music would feature an updated sound after the group reunited in 2009.

"We have songs...that are madly different and experimental, (and) songs that are prog-rock blink music, taking a blink song but (adding) stadium rock qualities to it," says Hoppus. "I really think we have a tremendous, diverse palette. We will have the album that I think is really modern and relevant to where we are in our career."

Blink-182 will continue keeping fans "Up All Night" when they embark on the Honda Civic Tour with My Chemical Romance, which kicks off Aug. 5 in Holmdel, N.J.
