Trumpet player Alan Rubin, who played Mr. Fabulous in the Blues Brothers, has died of lung cancer at the age of 68.
Rubin died at the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center at New York's Memorial on June 8, it has been revealed.
Alan Rubin was the trumpet player for Alan Rubin when he was 20 and during his career has played with Frank Sinatra, Frank Zappa. The Rolling Stones, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Aretha Franklin, Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, Dr john, James Brown, BB King and Billy Joel.
He was a member of the Saturday Night Live band. He played Mr Fabulous in the 1980 Blues Brothers movie and the 1998 sequel.
Alan is survived by wife Mary, sister Sharyn and brother Marshall.
