Bob Geldof sees Peaches Geldof's sons regularly.
The late star died of a drugs overdose in April 2014, leaving her young sons Astala, two, and Phaedra, 22 months, in the care of husband Thomas Cohen.
Since her death, Bob has carried on his close relationship with his grandsons, with those close to the family revealing his links to Thomas are stronger than ever.
"Bob sees the boys regularly; he and Thomas have a good relationship - better than when he was with Peaches because their issues would often get in the way. Bob has been led by the young ones - [daughters] Tiger, Fifi, Pixie, Thomas and the boys," a source told British magazine Grazia.
Thomas' family also provide a strong network of support for Astala and Phaedra. Phaedra was in the house with Peaches when she died, but his paternal grandparents Keith and Sue Cohen are keen for both him and his brother to feel like normal kids.
"Keith and Sue are very caring people. They have a strong Jewish faith and they are all about family. Sue is an artist and she gets Bob. She understood Peaches but the priority for her is bringing a sense of security back into these broken lives.
"For her it was important Thomas came home with the children. They lead a very normal life. They don't have photographers at the door, they don't give interviews or make the boys feel they're in any way different to kids they play with in the park," the insider said.
