Bobby Brown has selected a Buddhist moniker for his infant daughter.
The 46-year-old singer and wife Alicia Etheredge-Brown welcomed their baby girl into the world last Thursday at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.
And a birth certificate obtained by TMZ.com has revealed that the pair chose the somewhat unusual moniker of Bodhi for their new arrival.
The pair completed the baby's name by calling her Bodhi Jameson Rein Brown. Her weight and time of birth have yet to be revealed.
Bobby and Alicia's reasons for choosing the name are also unknown. However, the Buddhist meaning of the name describes the process of Buddha's enlightenment. In addition, Patrick Swayze's character in Point Break was called Bodhi, and Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green also have a son called Bodhi.
Despite having welcomed his and Alicia's bundle of joy, Bobby has been struggling with news of his eldest daughter Bobbi Kristina's health deteriorating.
Fears were raised about Bobbi Kristina's condition when a white tent was erected outside the hospice in which she is being treated. However, employees at the hospice refused to reveal any details other than noting there have been "no deaths" there today.
In January, 22-year-old Bobbi Kristina was found face down in a bathtub at her Georgia home and since then has been unresponsive to treatment.
In a recent interview, Bobby's New Edition bandmate Johnny Gill said the singer is struggling to cope with the news that his daughter is unlikely to survive much longer.
"State of mind? In a nutshell, not good. Not good," Johnny told ET. "We just had a conversation yesterday. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy."
Bobby's entire life has been adversely affected by the tragedy.
He struggled to get through a July 4 performance at the Affordable Old School Concert Series at Wolf Creek Amphitheater in Atlanta, having to stop several times before completing his show.
