Boy George has exclusively told Absolute Radio that legendary producer, composer, guitarist and co-founder and member of band Chic, Nile Rodgers, could help Culture Club make their new album, 15 years after they last recorded together.
After being asked who he'd like to work with, he said: "The obvious one is Bowie, I've never worked with him before but I would love to do something with him, or Brian Eno, or even Nile Rogers, I mean there's talk of maybe asking him to produce the Culture Club Record. Not to kind of sound like a disco record because Nile is a really good producer, you know, for bands. So that could be interesting. But, who knows."
Boy George also revealed that his song 'It's Easy,' from his new solo album 'This Is What I Do,' is about his father, saying: "That particular song was really about my father, because my dad left my mum after 43 years which just seemed so bonkers, it's like, why now, you know. My dad is dead now, but obviously when I came to write that song I was thinking very much about my father, and it is true when you're the one that stops loving it's very easy to walk away. And, having been someone that I've never really…I don't think I've ever chucked anyone really, I'm not one of life's chuckers, I normally get chucked. So, yes, it's just a song about my dad really, about how he walked away from my mum, you know."
And he also claimed that had Twitter been around twenty years ago, it would've been a 'bloodbath,' saying: "Well, it would have been very different, you know, because I think in a way it was a good thing it wasn't around, I think it's a much better thing for me as a grown up person, I think if I was younger I would have had like, more feuds with people, can you imagine me and Pete Burns, or me and Marilyn, I mean it would have just been relentless, you know, we didn't have any off button. Sometimes, I watch the feuds that people have, I mean I've had a few accidental feuds on Twitter, and you don't really have to do much to have a feud, it can be so innocuous what you say and suddenly people, especially fans, they run with things and you think, I didn't even say that, or, I was joking. But, I think back then it would have just been a blood bath, it would have just been relentless, so I'm kind of glad that there's enough stuff on YouTube that I can't bear looking at, so imagine if there was all of that stuff. So, I think I got away lightly really in terms of it being now, you know."
