Brandon Flowers has taken time away from his band The Killers to play a series of solo shows including a Saturday night gig at the Wiltern in Los Angeles.
During the course of the evening, Flowers brought out Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys for an intriguing acoustic version of the PSB classic Rent. As good as the song is as a dance number, stripping away the synths and drums shows a finely crafted pop tune that scales down extremely well.
Rent was from the Pet Shop Boys' second album Actually and went to number 8 in the U.K. in 1987. It did not chart in the U.S.
