Looking at him, you might not peg Howard Stern as a Twilighter. But, he says he is. And that fandom culminated in his appearance at the premiere of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" on Thursday night in New York City.
"Who would you expect to see? Well, we wanted to go out on a romantic date night and we just came from dinner and we saw a free movie, why not? Let's go," he told beside his wife, Beth Ostrosky Stern.
This isn't the first time the couple has made a "Twilight" premiere a date night. They also hit up premieres in 2009 and 2011. So, his next admission isn't all that surprising. "I have and so has Beth, we've seen them all. I like anything vampire-oriented," he shared. "I'm a big vampire/werewolf fan. So, if you put vampires and werewolves in a movie, I'm there. You know some of the movies that I've seen in the past needed vampires and werewolves."
While he happens to love the franchise, looking back on the previous four films he felt they could have stepped up their gore factor a bit. Hopefully, he shared, that would be rectified in this final film. "Well, we're hoping that there's not going to be nice vampires... I want to see some violence," he said about the flick.
Stern wasn't the only fan hitting the theater on Thursday to check out the film. MTV News caught up with a bunch of fans and they couldn't help but gush about the flick. "It was amazing," Destinee Russi said after the screening. "I can't wait to see it again. I would say it was the better one out of all four. I liked it a lot. It had more action, more storyline to do it."
Another fan, Stephanie Garcia, added, "This was the best film ever. I mean I screamed my lungs out."
Gil Nunez also couldn't get over how he loved the film. He shared, "Oh my god, the film was incredibly great. I never thought I'd love a movie as much as I liked this one. I've seen all the rest, but this, to top it off, was icing on the cake."
