Poison singer Bret Michaels is conscious but still critical after emergency surgery on Thursday evening following a brain hemorrhage.
Michaels is reported to now be "awake, in good spirits and talking" following the surgery.
Michaels will remain under doctor's care and closely monitored for the next 48-hours.
The 47-year old singer was rushed to hospital at around midnight Thursday night after complaining of an "excruciating headache". Doctors discovered he had suffered a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage.
Just a few weeks ago on April 12, Michaels had an emergency appendectomy.
Michaels formed Poison in 1983. Their big hit album was 'Open Up and Say … Ahhh!' featuring 'Every Rose Has A Thorn' and 'Nothin' But A Good Time'.
Bret Michaels is one of the contestants in the third season of The Celebrity Apprentice where he often talked about being a diabetic.
He has also had his own TV show 'Rock of Love'.
Michaels is also preparing to release a new solo album titled 'Custom Built'. The single is 'Nothing To Lose', a duet with Miley Cyrus.
