The 47-year-old Poison frontman appears to have given up his wild lifestyle in favour of settling down on the new show.
The bandana is still firmly tied around his head but gone are the strippers and tequila shots that reignited his career with his dating show Rock Of Love.
Having suffered a series of substantial health scares Michaels appears more reflective and mature on the new series.
In the first episode – aired across the US for the first time last night – Bret appears living in Arizona with his longtime on-off girlfriend Kristi Gibson, who is also the mother of his two daughters Raine, 10, and Jorja, 5.
'Initially, VH1 wanted me to do a show called Rock of Love Boat,' said Michaels.
'But I came to them with this idea, and they were interested.
'I said, 'Listen, sometimes it's going to be exciting, and sometimes it's going to be me, scooping up dog poop... that's life.'
'And I think the authenticity of it is what people are really going to love. They're going to see me as both a parent and a dad and also being on the road, rocking it.'
